Accreditations/Approvals/Affilliations

National American University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association, 30 North LaSalle Street, Suite 2400, Chicago, IL 60602, (312) 263-0456.  www.ncahlc.org.

In addition, the following National American University programs are separately accredited or approved by national educational and professional associations.

The veterinary technology program is accredited by the Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (CVTEA).

The medical assisting program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), on recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation for Medical Assistant Education.

The athletic training education program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), on recommendation of the Joint Review Committee on Education Programs in Athletic Training (JRC-AT).

The paralegal studies program offered at the Rapid City campus is approved by the American Bar Association.

The therapeutic massage program is accredited by the Integrative Massage and Somatic Therapies Accreditation Council (IMSTAC), a division of Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals, located at 1271 Sugarbush Drive, Evergreen, CO 80439. ABMP’s phone number is 800-458-2267. It is also approved by the Iowa Department of Public Health's Iowa State Massage Board.

National American University through the business division has been granted initial accreditation by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education for the following degree programs:

  • Master of Business Administration degree
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Management
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Management with an emphasis in Equine Management
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting, E-Commerce, Financial Management, Hospitality Management, Information Technology, International
  • Business, Management, Marketing, and Pre-Law
  • Associate of Applied Science degree in Applied Management
  • Associate of Applied Science degree in Business Administration
  • Associate of Applied Science degree in Accounting

National American University is approved for veteran's training and for administering the various educational programs sponsored by state and federal agencies, such as the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Social Security Administration, and various state rehabilitation services.
