National American University’s Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree program is designed to provide students with the preparation needed to sit for the certified managerial accounting (CMA) exam as well as the certified public accountant (CPA) exam in those states not requiring the fifth year of education. Students planning to take the exam in these states will take the CPA review courses as part of their undergraduate degree.

Graduates of the accounting program will find many opportunities as private accountants for corporations, partnerships, sole proprietorships, government agencies or non-profit organizations. They may also find opportunities to secure positions leading to executive management in large corporations.

The Associate of Applied Science degree in Accounting provides specialized education for various entry-level positions in the accounting profession. It is designed for easy transfer into the bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Graduates of this program can expect to find employment as accounting technicians, payroll clerks, bookkeepers, or clerical assistants in business, government or non-profit organizations. With experience, graduates may qualify for more advanced positions, such as payroll supervisor, lead accountant or tax specialist.

The applied management program is designed for individuals with degrees, diplomas or certificates in specialty areas, such as merchandising, dental hygiene, electronics, medical assisting, drafting, welding or other vocational areas.

The Associate of Applied Science degree in Applied Management is designed to meet the needs of individuals who have acquired occupationally related training at community colleges, technical institutes, military service schools or industry-related schools in business, health or another technical field.

This degree is an excellent choice for those who do not care to specialize in any particular business area but want a broad understanding of business. Graduates of this program will be qualified for a wide range of challenging jobs in business, government, and non-profit organizations, including various management positions in retail, finance, insurance and marketing. It is an excellent degree for those who desire to operate a business of their own.

This specialized Associate of Applied Science degree program emphasizes an understanding of business and an introduction to the use of computers in business.  Students may elect to continue in the Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. They may also choose an emphasis in accounting, information technology, financial management, pre-law, international business, management or marketing.

This is an excellent degree for students interested in the field of finance. Graduates from this program can expect to be well-qualified for jobs in banking, lending institutions, financial planning in the business insurance industry and brokerage firms.

This degree is intended for the business major that recognizes the importance and growth of the use of digital information in today’s business world. As with all the business administration degrees, a wide range of job opportunities are available, but graduates of this degree will have an advantage in the ability to use information technology to get the job done.

More and more business is being conducted on an international level. This degree gives students the opportunity to focus on how business conducted on a global scale is different from domestic enterprise. The types of jobs available are similar to those with a general business degree, but graduates from this degree program will have a distinct advantage in working for any firm that does business globally.

This degree is intended for those students who aspire to high-level executive management positions in private industry or government agencies. Graduates can expect to find opportunities in a wide range of management positions, including human resource management, operations management and production supervision.

This is an exciting degree for people who are creative and like to be on the front-line of business development. Graduates from this degree will find many career opportunities, such as retail management, sales management, marketing research, advertising and promotion.

This program is designed to prepare individuals to obtain front office positions in business and industry as computer applications professionals.  The diploma leads to certifications as a Microsoft Office Users Specialist (MOUS).

hcmThe health care management program is designed for individuals interested in finding career opportunities in administrative or leadership positions within the diverse health care field or within their own area of clinical/professional expertise.

The curriculum was created to give students a deeper knowledge of current health care management topics, operations and practices.  Courses focus on the analytical skills necessary to determine the needs of the health care industry and problem-solving skills to implement and manage the solutions.  The program focuses on critical areas in health care today including policy, regulatory, finance, ethics, administration and technology.

Two enrollment options are available to students who wish to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Management:

Option 1: A "four-year" program designed for students who wish to enter the health care management field. If a student has completed prior course work, a course-by-course evaluation will be conducted and credit granted where possible.

Option 2: A “degree completion” program that allows students who have previously earned a diploma or associate degree in nursing or allied health to complete their Bachelor of Science  degree in Health Care Management in two years, or less, if attending classes full-time at NAU. Length of time to earn a bachelor’s degree may vary depending on extent of diploma program.

This two-year program of study provides education for various entry-level positions in the information systems field. Students are encouraged to work with their advisor to design a program in their area of interest, which may be in programming, database administration, Microsoft networking or software applications. Graduates may qualify for positions such as computer operators, programmers, database administrators or microcomputer specialists.

Credits earned in this program will apply toward the information technology bachelor's degree with an emphasis in management information systems.

The requirement for management personnel to understand information technology and its impact upon modern business operations has never been greater. This degree program, with its component of business, finance, management and accounting courses and its specialization in MIS, prepares graduates to be managers in information technology. Graduates are qualified for positions as systems analysts and information systems managers.

This program is designed to provide students with an in-depth knowledge of network design and operation. Graduates of this program have all the necessary skills to manage and provide technical support for a computer network. The focus is on Microsoft networking and prepares students for the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) exams.

The field of computer information systems continues to expand and change at a rapid rate. The need for qualified application developers with knowledge of information technology systems is greater than ever as the requirement for new systems increases. This four-year degree program prepares students to qualify for computer programmer/analyst and software engineer positions with opportunities for advancement. Students will become proficient in common and current programming languages and software development methods and tools.

The medical administrative assistant degree program is designed to prepare students for entry-level administrative positions in a variety of health care settings. Administrative duties may include greeting patients, setting appointment times, scheduling hospital admissions, medical transcription, medical record management, insurance coding and billing, bill collections, office compliance and other general medical office procedures.

An Associate of Applied Science degree in Paralegal Studies is offered for students who wish to pursue a course of study emphasizing basic paralegal skills. Credits earned in this program will apply toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Paralegal Studies. Students can normally achieve the bachelor's degree in six additional quarters.

The therapeutic massage industry is a rapidly growing profession. Taking into consideration the mind, body, and spirit the focus of the massage therapist is to meet the needs of the client by perceiving the body as a whole.

With over fifty different therapeutic approaches, the massage therapist is not limited to utilizing only one approach. Massage therapists may work with premature babies, infants, children with disabilities, adults, and geriatric clients. This program is designed to be the foundation of any massage therapist's career.

Massage therapists are found in a variety of settings. They may be found under the supervision of a health care facility such as a hospital, nursing home, rehabilitation center or chiropractic office. Other massage establishments may include fitness centers, day spas, cruise lines, nutrition centers, or hair salons, and may be employed by the establishment or on an independent contract. Many therapists choose to be self-employed and open a private practice independently or with several associates. Administrative duties may include client scheduling, receptionist duties, client record management, office correspondence, medical insurance procedures, fees and collections.

Clinical duties may include interviewing the client, documenting client progress reports, administering massage techniques for the purpose of relaxation, revitalization, or rehabilitation, or conducting on-site corporate massage.
