NAU Graduate Programs

Finding a graduate program that's right for you can be challenging.   Traditional, campus-only programs are common, but they can be inconvenient, forcing you to attend several scheduled lectures per week, that may conflict with your job, your family responsibilities or other commitments.  At National American University you can enroll in graduate classes completely online or a combination of both on-campus and online to complete your degree.  The blended model of learning offers you the face-to-face support that campuses offer, while still providing the convenience of taking classes online.  This gives you the flexibility to schedule completion of your degree program to best fit your busy lifestyle since you’ll have access to learning 24 hours a day from anywhere the Internet can be accessed.

Typical online programs are easier to fit into your busy schedule, but they may feel impersonal as you never speak to faculty and other students. National American University offers a graduate program unlike any you've seen before.  The personal interaction with faculty and other students is what makes our graduate program so unique. You'll "attend class" weekly, online, at your own convenience for threaded discussions with your classmates, assignments, and review. Once a week, you'll have live Internet sessions where you and your classmates can speak to your professor and each other in synchronous discussion (real time, live audio) over the Internet as your instructor discusses the week's material.

You will also have the opportunity to participate in professional development seminars either through the university or through a professional organization of your choice. The university offers professional development in the form of executive seminars that will cover a relevant business topic and give you the opportunity to engage in discussions with business leaders and with fellow classmates. The executive seminars are held at campus locations and last 2 ½ days.

The graduate program offers two degree options, the Master in Business Administration (MBA) and the Master of Management (MM), so you can find the master’s degree that’s right for your career.  The MBA degree is a professional level graduate degree for students who have completed a bachelor's degree in virtually any discipline. This degree is ideally suited for individuals needing advanced training in various business subjects such as accounting, marketing, economics, statistics, human resource management and quantitative skills. Students lacking an undergraduate background in business will find an opportunity to enroll in foundation business and management courses through NAU.

The Master of Management degree is designed for students with diverse professional backgrounds who hold undergraduate degrees in a variety of disciplines.  This MM program will incorporate more of a qualitative, ‘soft skills’ management approach as opposed to the quantitative side of business that is the focus of the MBA program.   It was developed to offer an innovative curriculum that includes both the traditional management content areas and the rapidly changing skills that you need for effective leadership and management in today’s organizations.
