Campus Tour

NAU students are adults who choose to attend NAU because of the friendly environment. The faculty and staff are enthusiastic and passionate for education.

The Independence campus is located at 3620 Arrowhead Avenue, Independence, MO  64057.   The campus is strategically located on the borders of Kansas City and Independence and just minutes to nearby cities with Interstate I-70 and 291 nearby.

The Independence campus is involved with the community, by giving back, taking care of each other and assessing and learning what and how we can help as an area business member. Some of our affiliations include: Missouri Rehabilitation Association, Hope House Inc., The Kansas City Junior League, Independence Chamber of Commerce, and ‘The Day of Caring’ through United Way.

We have also assisted in the ‘Angel Tree’ program through the Salvation Army, Kansas City Harvesters food drive, ‘Day of Warmth’-coat donation and contributed classrooms to the Census 2000 effort, Kansas City Metropolitan Battered Women’s Shelters and Adult Basic Education classes (GED).

Monday through Thursday - 8:00 a.m. to 9:50 p.m.
Friday - 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Saturday - 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Sunday - closed
The Independence campus continues to thrive due to the demand from the metropolitan area for degrees, certifications and testing opportunities. The Kansas City campus, along with the advisory board, listens to the community. We have become technologically advanced, allowing us to offer the latest curriculum to meet the needs of students and employers.

Another area of growth is our library online services that include: EBSCO Host, Netlibrary, Westlaw, CINAHL, Proquest Direct, First Search and Net Advantage. All National American University students are given access to the online services from their home, public library or workplace in addition to the classroom.

The Independence campus offers a variety of bachelor's and associate degrees and diplomas to meet the needs of the community. Meeting student needs are not only accomplished from the classroom environment and study groups but also through free tutoring. When a class is especially challenging to students, the dean of academics arranges opportunities for tutoring sessions. The sessions are free of charge to students and arranged at a convenient time for both students and tutors.

Award parties are held in the middle of each quarter to honor those who have made the President’s List, Dean’s List, Honorable Mention List and Outstanding Part-Time Student Award.

Graduation is held once a year in the spring to honor all diploma and degree candidates.
