The Air University Associate-To-Baccalaureate Cooperative (AU-ABC) program is an initiative between Air University and civilian higher education institutions, one of which being National American University (NAU) , to offer bachelor's degree opportunities to every Air Force enlisted member regardless of location.
National American University offers the unique opportunity to complete all coursework in the traditional classroom setting if the student is located near one of NAU's 16 physical locations; completely online or with a combination of the two. NAU’s Bachelor of Science in Applied Management program has been evaluated by Air University and found relevant to an individual’s Air Force career field. The program is designed to transfer CCAF credits so students can obtain a bachelor’s degree with no more than 60 additional equivalent semester credits which equals 90 quarter hour credits using the standard conversion. Additionally, students will be able to go to one centralized Web site, the Air Force Virtual Education Center, for their educational needs including approved degree programs offered through the AU-ABC program.
Air University program requirements:
- Meet specific accreditation standards;
- Require no more that 60 equivalent semester hours or 90 quarter hours after the A.A.S. degree for a bachelor’s degree;
- Deliver instruction with distance learning available;
- Maximize application of military credit;
- Relate degree programs to Air Force specialty.
National American University is approved to offer the Bachelor of Science in Management. The applied management program is designed for individuals with degrees, diplomas, or certificates in specialty areas, such as merchandising, dental hygiene, electronics, medical assisting, drafting, welding, or other vocational areas.
From 28 to 48 credit hours in one specialty area may be applied toward this degree. However, a minimum of 28 credit hours in one specialty area is required to enroll in this program. Combined with our sound business and general education courses, this degree prepares the graduate for advancement in management areas associated with their specialty field.
Two options are available under this program: (1) transfer of credit from the source of the specialty training, or (2) creation of a specialty area using National American University courses. All AU-ABC students will be enrolled as option (1) students.
