Surgical Technology Associate of Applied Science

A surgical technology school in the Omaha metro area - Bellevue

Omaha-Surgical-Tech-Degree

The Surgical Technology Associate of Applied Science degree program at National American University's school in Bellevue (Omaha, Nebraska Metro Area) prepares students from diverse backgrounds to perform the tasks expected of an entry-level surgical tech in an operating room setting. Students are prepared for this career path via a student-centered, performance-based curriculum that uses ongoing skills assessments and offers hands-on experience by way of a clinical externship.

Surgical technologists are specialists in practicing sterile technique, anticipating the needs of the surgeon, and assisting the surgeon in all phases in surgery. These professionals play a key role in preparing, maintaining, and protecting the surgical sterile field. Surgical technology is one of the fastest growing professions in the healthcare industry.
