The pre-licensure BSN program is divided into two cores:
- Foundational Core (general education courses)
- Clinical Core (nursing specific courses)
BSN Foundational Core
Admission to the BSN foundational core is based on university admission criteria and does not guarantee admission to the BSN clinical core.
Students are required to attend the BSN foundational core orientation/advising session and complete necessary forms to enroll into the foundational core. These orientations/advising sessions are conducted on the following campuses approved by the respective state Boards of Nursing to offer the BSN program:
- Albuquerque, NM
- Austin, TX
- Overland Park, KS
- Rapid City, SD
- Sioux Falls, SD
- Wichita West, KS
Students accepted into the BSN foundational core may complete certain general education courses at other NAU locations. Click to visit with an NAU advisor for more information.
BSN Clinical Core
Admission to the BSN clinical core is selective and highly competitive. Students who have successfully completed the BSN foundational core (general education courses) at NAU will be given priority consideration, but are not guaranteed admission into the BSN clinical core.
Students accepted into the BSN clinical core must complete all nursing courses at NAU campuses approved by the respective state Boards of Nursing.
Upon graduation, you can be prepared to become a nurse generalist with a strong foundation for developing specialized clinical practice. For more information about the BSN program, click on the links below:
