Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies The Associate of Applied Science Paralegal degree program offered through NAU's school in Wichita will help you build a strong foundation of training and skills needed to succeed in the workplace. A Paralegal is defined by the American Bar Association (“ABA”) as an individual who is retained by a lawyer, law office, or corporation, governmental agency or other entity and who performs specifically delegated substantive legal work for which a lawyer is responsible.” National American University offers degree programs in both the Associate of Applied Science and the Bachelor of Science in Paralegal Studies. The Paralegal Studies degree offered at NAU's Wichita West, KS campus provides students with the technical knowledge of a law office applications and the substantive legal knowledge to be a critical part of a legal team. The program is approved by the ABA at the Rapid City, Sioux Falls, and Minneapolis/St. Paul Metro (Bloomington, Brooklyn Center, Burnsville, Minnetonka, and Roseville).

Certification/Exam Preparation

Graduates of NAU’s paralegal studies programs are eligible to sit for the Certified Legal Assistant (CLA) exam administered by the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) and receive the designation of "Certified Paralegal" or "CP". Graduates may also seek certification from the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA) through the Paralegal CORE Competency Exam™ (PCCE™) exam.

National American University’s Wichita West campus has been serving students in the area since 2010. The Wichita West campus offers the convenience of on campus classes, online classes, or a combination of both. Students can pursue degrees in a wide variety of programs. The campus is conveniently located at the corner of 13th Street North and Tyler Road in the Northwest Plaza Center and is easily accessible from all areas of Wichita from Interstate 235, Highway K96 or US54/400.
