Bachelor of Science in Professional Legal Studies (Kansas)

The professional legal studies degree from NAU's school in Wichita will provide students with a well-rounded education, including an emphasis in legal training that affords the student a unique and valuable perspective upon entering various professions in which knowledge of the law is essential. The program consists of a major core of legal courses to include legal research, contracts, torts, civil procedure, business law, administrative law, and evidence. An introduction to legal principles, the adversary system and a capstone course round out the major core legal courses required of this program. Students will develop the ability to communicate clearly, systematically, and logically and also to utilize valuable critical thinking skills during the communication process. This program will train students for employment in a number of professional areas in which a basic understanding of the law and legal principles are beneficial.


The Bachelor’s of Science degree in Professional Legal Studies also offers areas of study in Human Resources Management, Entrepreneurial, Management, and Supply Chain Management. An area of study is a grouping of electives that focus on particular interests and career paths. These business areas of study will train students for employment in a number of professional business areas in which a basic understanding of the law and legal principles are useful.


This program is offered online, with support services provided by the NAU locations listed below. Classes are offered as follows:


Online Classes Only – Students may not take any on-ground classes at the following locations:

Indianapolis, Indiana; Garden City, Overland Park, Wichita, and Wichita West, Kansas; Bloomington, Brooklyn Center, Burnsville, Minnetonka, Rochester, and Roseville, Minnesota; Independence, Lee's Summit, and Zona Rosa, Missouri; Bellevue, Nebraska; Albuquerque and Albuquerque West, New Mexico; Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Allen, Texas.


On-Ground Classes Permissible – In addition to online classes, students may take on-ground classes at the following locations: Centennial, Colorado Springs, and Colorado Springs South, Colorado; Ellsworth AFB, Rapid City, Sioux Falls, and Watertown, South Dakota; Austin, Austin South, Georgetown, Houston, Lewisville, Mesquite, and Richardson, Texas.

About Wichita (West Campus)

National American University’s Wichita West campus has been serving students in the area since 2010. The Wichita West campus offers the convenience of on campus classes, online classes, or a combination of both. Students can pursue degrees in a wide variety of programs. The campus is conveniently located at the corner of 13th Street North and Tyler Road in the Northwest Plaza Center and is easily accessible from all areas of Wichita from Interstate 235, Highway K96 or US54/400.
