Creating a student portal account

You must manually create your Student Portal account but going to the New Account Creation page and inputting your Name and your Social Security Number or Student ID. The information you enter will be matched with the information you have on file at NAU. During the account creation process, pay close attention to each screen so that you will know what your username will be. In most cases, your username will be firstname.lastname.

You will then be prompted to select a password. For security purposes, your password:
  • Must be at least 6 characters long
  • Must contain at least one upper case letter
  • Must contain at least one lower case letter
  • Must contain at least one number or special character
  • Can not contain 3 or more consecutive letters from your username
After selecting an appropriate password, you will receive a confirmation e-mail at the e-mail address you have on file at NAU. You Student Portal account will not be active until you click on the confirmation link in the confirmation e-mail.

You will need to know your username and password each time you log onto the NAU Student Portal so it is important that you make a note of what they are and keep them in a secure place.
