“I have a great sense of fulfillment concerning this accomplishment.”
Meet NAU graduate, J. Scott Baird. Before Scott decided to pursue his degree, he had numerous responsibilities at home, work and in the community. He had a desire to earn a degree for some time, but could never seem to find the time to actively pursue a degree until he explored his options at NAU. But Scott found just the fact being actively enrolled in a University helped him achieve his career goals.
“Finding the time necessary to attend classes and do homework was the major obstacle to overcome.” Scott was juggling responsibilities as a husband, father, grandfather, Chief Deputy Sheriff, CFO of a local business, and treasurer of the board of directors of my church to name a few. “What it came down to was a sense of resolve and determination that no matter what else was going on in my life I would attend class and give priority to completing assignments to the best of my ability.”
It was Scott’s determination and hard work that paid off in the end. He graduated in 2013 with his Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership. He reiterates the most significant way that life has changed since graduation is that he now can show he has obtained my degree and that it was conferred with highest honors. “I have a great sense of fulfillment concerning this accomplishment.”
