National American University Celebrates National Military Appreciation Month

star-header

Although most Americans are aware of Memorial Day and its importance in honoring men and women who died serving our country, did you know that the entire month of May is National Military Appreciation Month? National Military Appreciation Month was created to educate and create social awareness of the multi-faceted impact the military has had in preserving our way of life. It gives the community the opportunity to connect with our armed servicemen and servicewomen and their spouses to show patriotism and learn more about the history of our military. May is filled with a number of events to celebrate National Military Appreciation Month, culminating with Memorial Day, which takes place on the last Monday of the month. The month begins with Loyalty Day on May 1st. Americans are encouraged on this day to display their flag or say the Pledge of Allegiance to reaffirm their loyalty to America. This is followed by VE Day and Military Spouse Appreciation Day on the 8th, Armed Forces Day on the 16th, and, finally, Memorial Day on the 25th this year. At National American University, we understand and appreciate the hard work, dedication, and sacrifice our servicemen and servicewomen have displayed. A major reason why National American University was founded was to help veterans coming back from World War II and the Korean War get acclimated to civilian life again with the education and tools to succeed.  We are happy to say that this tradition of providing an education to our veterans and their spouses is as strong as ever. How Does National American University Help Our Veterans and Their Families Succeed?
