Course Description

The Medication Tech (AIDE) is a certified nursing assistant in the State of Kansas, who provided medication administration to resident in long term care facilities, schools, correctional institutions and non-hospital assisted living homes. The student must be 18 years of age, possess a current and active CNA certification in the State of Kansas to register for this course. The student will provide various forms of medication to the residents under the direct supervision of the clinical instructor (Registered Nurse).

Students who pay online MUST contact the Overland Park campus at 913-981-8700 to obtain all the necessary paperwork. ALL Paperwork, Documentation and Results MUST be received two weeks prior to the start of class.

  • Cost includes textbook (included in tuition: drug test fee and CMT exam fee)
  • The Medication Tech tuition includes the drug test fee and the Kansas State exam fee.
  • Financial Aid does not cover MT tuition fees.
  • Enrollment Tuition fee is non-refundable.

Documentation and enrollment fees are due and collected on the first day of class. Documents and fees include:

  • $700.00 for tuition (included in tuition: drug test fee and CMT exam fee)
  • Driver’s License, social security card, I-9 Verification
  • Paperwork (will be filled out first day of class)
  • Drug test requisition form (needs to be picked up after tuition has been paid)

Documentation and materials that are to be purchased prior to the first day of class by the students are: see attached application checklist

  • TB Test (with results)
  • Drug test (with results)
  • Must have a valid and current CNA license
  • Scrubs (Ceil Blue), stethoscope, and a second hand watch.
  • Nursing Drug book
  • Background check with results – ($57.00)
  • CPR Certification – ($35.00)

* Students must wear non porous shoes to class and clinical site.
