Scholarship Application

Professional Advancement Scholarship Application

 

Academic Leadership Scholarship

  • $800 to $1,995 for three consecutive quarters
  • No student may receive in excess of $1,995 for room scholarship
  • Limited number of awards
  • First time undergraduate Rapid City students (students cannot be a special student)
  • Must reside in the residence hall
  • Scholarship application must be completed and submitted to admissions
  • Level A:  High School GPA 3.6+, $1,995 ($665 per quarter)
  • Level B:  High School GPA 3.25-3.59, $1,200 ($400 per quarter)
  • Level C:  High School GPA 2.5-3.24, $800 (267 per quarter)

Retention of the scholarship

  • Maintain at least a 2.5 GPA (checked at the end of three consecutive quarters)
  • Maintain attendance in at least 12 credit hours per quarter (eight credits must be RC on campus)
  • Continue to reside in the residence hall
  • Enroll in a minimum of three quarters per 12 month period (cannot take off two consecutive quarters)

Professional Advancement Scholarship

  • Must have graduated from high school on or before December 31, 2005
  • U.S. citizen
  • First time undergraduate student at NAU
  • Enrolled in at least 12 credit hours per quarter (8 credits must be RC on campus)
  • Limited number available
  • High School or previous college Cum GPA will be used to determine the level of the scholarship (which ever is higher)
  • Students with prior college credit must have at least 12 transferable credit hours to use the college Cum GPA
  • Application must be submitted to the admissions office
  • Level A:  3.6+ Cum GPA, $750 ($250 per quarter)
  • Level B:  3.25-3.59 Cum GPA, $650 ($217 per quarter)
  • Level C:  2.5-3.24 Cum GPA, $500 ($167 per quarter)

Retention

  • Maintain a 2.5 Cum GPA (which is checked each award year)
  • Full time status (12 credit hours, eight credits on campus – checked each quarter)
  • Enroll in three quarters per 12 month period (cannot take off two consecutive quarters)

Rapid City Area High School Scholarship

  • 2006 or 2007 high school graduate
  • Reside within 50 mile radius of Rapid City
  • First time undergraduate student at NAU
  • Enrolled in at least 12 credit hours per quarter (eight credits must be RC on campus)
  • Limited number available
  • Application must be submitted to the admissions office
  • Cannot receive another NAU academic tuition scholarship in addition to this scholarship
  • Awarded for three consecutive quarters
  • Level A:  3.6+ High School Cum GPA, $750 total ($250 per quarter)
  • Level B:  3.25-3.59 High School Cum GPA, $650 total ($217 per quarter)
  • Level C:  2.5-3.24 High School Cum GPA, $500 total ($167 per quarter)

Spouse/Sibling Scholarship (Book) – given any quarter

  • Textbook funding (up to $250 per quarter) for each recipient
  • Limited funds
  • Must be related:  husband/wife (legally married), parent/daughter or son, sibling (biological or step), providing both students meet all other qulaifications, both may receive the scholarship
  • Documentation may need to be provided
  • Recipient must be home campus Rapid City
  • Recipient must be full-time status, (all RC classes, or a combination of RC, EAFB and online)
  • Scholarship will only apply to Rapid City classes
  • Recipient must maintain 2.5 CGPA
  • A student may not receive this scholarship if he/she is currently receiving NAU scholarship/NAU CTA valuing $2,500 or more per year or is 100% subsidized by an outside source.
  • Must attend beyond the add/drop period of the quarter
  • Must apply for the scholarship each quarter
