Supporting Our Veterans: It’s the American Way

star-header

Each year on November 11th, America celebrates Veteran’s Day to honor those brave men and women who have served and fought for our country. Veteran’s Day was created to give everyone the opportunity to thank our troops and show our support. Across the country, there will be parades, flag-raising ceremonies, school assemblies, fundraising events, and more to create more awareness and allow American’s to learn more about the military’s history and soldiers’ stories. The holiday was established in 1954 after President Dwight E. Eisenhower signed a bill passed by Congress into law.
We here at National American University are proud of our history supporting veterans. We just finished up a fundraising event with the Independence Fund and will be donating over $9,400 for the Independence Fund to help purchase an all-terrain wheel chair. All-terrain wheel chairs create more normalcy for soldiers and allow them greater flexibility to return to past activities that they may have found fulfilling. We encourage anyone who wishes to donate to this excellent cause to visit http://independencefund.org/give/national-american-university or contact your local National American University.

Helping Veterans and their Families Chase Their Dreams

Once our servicemen do come home, many find transitioning back to civilian life difficult. One of the ways we can help them make the transition easier is by providing access to a quality education. National American University is proud to have served veterans since 1941. At NAU, we offer dedicated military staff to help you with your military benefits and find the best options for financing your education. We also offer flexible study plans and military-friendly transfer opportunities that help you save time and money on earning degree.

Moreover, we offer a number of programs designed specifically for veterans. In addition to our veteran reduction rate for all courses in our continued education division, we have partnered with Bridge360 to establish our Veterans4Quality program to veterans in the Austin, Texas area. The program provides free courses to help veterans obtain the education and skills necessary to become a software quality assurance engineer.

At National American University, we believe that our veterans should be honored every day. Since our inception, we have made an effort to offer affordable education to give back to veterans who have given so much more to us. We would like to say thank you to all veterans and their families out there for their service and encourage anyone who wants to get the education they need to find a career they’ve always wanted to check out your local NAU campus.
