Meet Armolita Romero, Student Services and Support Manager

For 13 years, Armolita Romero has dedicated her career at National American University to helping students navigate their educational journeys. As a Student Services and Support Manager, she serves as a guide, advocate, and source of encouragement for students as they work toward achieving their goals.

What makes her work especially meaningful is that she understands many of the challenges her students face because she has lived them herself.

Supporting Students Through Experience

Armolita’s passion for student services comes from a genuine desire to help others succeed.

“Every day, I have the opportunity to support students, solve problems, and create pathways that help them move forward in their education. I enjoy being a resource, an advocate, and a source of encouragement during important moments in a student’s journey.”

Her connection to this work is deeply personal. As the first person in her family to attend college, Armolita balanced raising children, working, and earning her degree at the same time. Those experiences shaped her perspective and continue to influence how she serves students today.

“I understand many of the challenges our students face and the determination it takes to keep moving forward. I also know how much a supportive person can make a difference during difficult times.”

Today, she uses those experiences to help students feel supported, informed, empowered, and capable of achieving their goals.

Words of Encouragement

When asked what advice she would share with students, Armolita offered a message of perseverance and self-belief.

“Keep going. Progress is more important than perfection. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, lean on your support system, and give yourself grace along the way.”

She reminds students that every class completed, every obstacle overcome, and every step forward brings them closer to their goals.

“Remember that you belong here, you are capable, and your education is an investment in yourself and your future.”

Armolita proudly admits she’s always had the soul of an 80-year-old.

Long before cozy hobbies became popular, she enjoyed spending quiet afternoons with a good book or working on a crochet project. While others chased trends, she found joy in slowing down and embracing life’s simple pleasures.
