Healthcare Coding Diploma Program

The healthcare coding online diploma program gives students a comprehensive understanding of coding principles and standards for an in-demand entry-level position in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including hospitals, physician practices, long-term care, home healthcare, insurance, managed care, and governmental agencies.

Students are eligible to sit for the Certified Coding Associate (CCA) through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) upon completion of the program.

Graduates of the program will be able to:

 

  • Assign ICD and CPT codes on inpatient and outpatient records.
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain health record content in paper or electronic mediums.
  • Apply healthcare billing and reimbursement processes for inpatient and outpatient encounters.
  • Create a professional development plan to achieve and maintain certification.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and relationship management skills in healthcare organizations.
  • Demonstrate effective teamwork through collaboration.
